During my masters, course focused on several interesting design domains like designing for the quality of experience, physical computing, interactive installation & new modes of interaction. I was looking at some projects i did during my masters, so thought it would be good idea to show project name “come fly with us” which i did with Shadi Lahham & Soey.

It is a bunch of several car & bike games which were focused on new ways to interact. A gesture based game allowed people to move their cares & bikes on right side by moving right & left side by moving left. As more you jump, the car or bike gets accelerated. In addition to this, google earth was also installed which helped to navigate through google earth in an interactive way. TO move right on google earth, widen up your right hand, to zoom in-move it down, to zoom out-move it up. Similar way for left side.

One of my all time favourite blog is we make money not art. If someone is not aware of it, then it visit art galleries, listen to conferences, cover art and design events, take a lot of pictures, interview creative people and document it and share with us.

As always, i am very much interested in gestural interaction and physical computing i saw one art istallation called “remapping firenze”. There are two industrial treadmills in front of a huge screen display renderings of a deserted Florence.

The 3D images are put into motion by the physical effort made by the viewer(s)/runner(s)/performer(s). Sensors placed in the handle bar detect movements, and allow the viewer to determine which direction should be followed and what will be the intensity of the images traversed.

This is somewhat similar like de Nijs’ famous installation Run, Motherfucker Run.

The runner can only hear the field recordings when navigating slowly through the geometry of the streets and buildings. When they accelerate, contact with human voices and noises is lost. Which touches upon one of the most impressive characteristics of Remapping Firenze: running and slowing down/stopping on the treadmill provides the public with a totally different perspective.While you adopt a gentle walking pace, the city looks real and recognizable in all its touristic cliches and beauty.

My classmate Ale Ceneviva (during my graduation) just now send me a link of his latest installation he did in Brazil about interactive photography. Lebere a Cene works on a concept of ” digital cameras and mobile phones, more and more people are not being spectators but content providers, showing themselves on web and other social platforms.

Libere a Cene brings this behavior  to the real world, to the city exploring new interaction modalities with the public and their personal content now exposed to all.

Pictures taken from the cell phone is send to a project in a support of 32m2 exposing themselves and releasing a scene.
